Samahara
His theatre home in Hyderabad, and where the discipline behind everything else was built.
Theatre-trained in Hyderabad. Trained in classical and folk dance. Now working in front of the camera at the New York Film Academy.
The stage gives you one take. That is where he learned to work.
Mrunal Kumar Govardanam is a theatre-trained actor who built his craft on stage with Samahara in Hyderabad — most notably as Sarayya, the role that defined his work as a theatre artist. Live performance shaped how he approaches a part: the preparation, the physical control, the responsibility of holding an audience without a second attempt.
His training runs through movement as well as text. He performs across cultural dance forms and teaches them, working with students on the same discipline he applies to his own practice — precision, repetition, and the patience to keep refining something long after it looks finished.
He is now acting at the New York Film Academy, carrying the rigor of the stage into work for camera. He is chasing the parts that carry a film — the lead, the character an audience leaves the theatre still thinking about — and he treats every role between here and there as preparation for it. Based between New York and New Jersey, and available for film, television, and stage.
